I was given a free sample of this book and paid a nominal fee in exchange for an honest review.

The Author's Bio

As a long time social media strategist, I have worked with some of the most recognizable brands in a variety of different industries. During this time, I have used my expertise to demonstrate how to properly leverage a social media presence in order to reach a broad range of consumers while simultaneously generating significant revenue through various monetization strategies.

Review

This is a short paperback book of only 39 pages. The author does a good job of quickly reviewing ways in which a person can earn revenue through their social media reach on the following nine social media platforms, in order of their total reach:
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Snapchat
  • LinkedIn
  • Tumblr
  • Pintrest
  • Instagram
  • Vine
  • Google+
Mr. Kravitz goes through each social platform and explains it's unique opportunities and limitations for creating revenue for it's users with a broad audience. This is good since it isn't a "one size fits all" world.

It is nice that the author addresses generating revenue for business selling their own product as well as affiliate marketers and briefly touches on those who post sponsored material (in Twitter in particular). I think he could have expanded some on the sponsored arena by mentioning sites such as Tomoson who bring social influencers together with businesses for sponsored blog posts, tweets, etc., as well as product reviews.

The book is very current, published October 29, 2015, which is extremely important given the rapid change in social media applications. For example, the author mentions that Instagram recently made it's links clickable, something that only began in 2015.

I think this book is a good starting place for individuals who are beginning to build their social media presence beyond that of the average user who is looking to monetize this reach.
